You come to the well because you’re thirsty
And that’s where the water is
You come to the well with your wishes
The ones that are yours, not his
You come to the well because you have to
For the water you need to live
You come to the well for the water
It’s all you have left to give
And he tells you what you have done
And he tells you what you are
And he tells you God can be worshiped
Whether you’re near or far
And he gives you living water
And you never thirst again
And you share the living water
With all your fellowmen
You go up to the mountain to worship
Up to Mount Gerizim
Where your people rightly worship
And not in Jerusalem
This is where the blessing comes down
The spirit descends like a dove
And you know the Christ is coming
To speak the truth in love
And he tells you what you have done
And he tells you what you are
And he tells you God can be worshiped
Whether you’re near or far
And he gives you living water
And you never thirst again
And you share the living water
With all your fellowmen
You ask him to stay on the mountain
To tell you what you must do
He taught you to worship in spirit
Now learn the worship that’s true
He’s given you living water
Now eat the heavenly food
Lift up your eyes to the harvest
And to the savior of the world
And he tells you what you have done
And he tells you what you are
And he tells you God can be worshiped
Whether you’re near or far
And he gives you living water
