It starts with the king
Calling for a return to
The God who chose the people
And not the God chosen
By the people for the people

It is a call the people
Rarely listen to and often
Reject over and over
Since they hear it so
Infrequently, the king
Usually being anti-
Christ and usually
Being so again.

But the priests must
Listen and begin to
Cleanse themselves
No longer pleasing the
People or the king
But acting according
To the gift of God-
Death is their gift

Because it is only death
That can bring life
Fruit watered by blood
And flesh eaten by a
Valley of dry bones
A sacrifice spitted
On the high place
Outside the city

Only when the priests
Are holy to the Lord’s temple
And are building it
Will the people come
And they will give
And they will give
And they will give
Until there is enough
To feed even those who didn’t

And then the brethren
Who only came at the
Eleventh hour to give
Will be accepted just
As those who gave
The first fruits first
And all will be the
Chosen people of God
And the unclean cleansed

And many will come
From East and West
And become the people
Of God indivisible
Under the king of all
