Because of joy I am exposed
2 Samuel 6:16-23

When God has brought me home to Him
by coming home to me, I will be unable
to listen to you, even if you weep. I have to go and thank Him.

God has come into the city
of my soul; each breath is like an exile freed.
The truth no longer grieves me. My laughter is like tambourines.

I will continue to dance with swinging feet
even if because of joy I am exposed
to the tittering of slaves and glances of the servant girls.

If you scorn me, God will curse you.
Barren as your charity, your womb
will clog with dust and spit out the last crop of blood.

But if I could choose, God would curse you
with kisses. And if I had my way, He would
sentence you to leave your room and join me in my exultation.

Then your womb would open like water
parted by the searching of a prow.
Then your womb would bear the living fruit of a new creation.
