Praise God from Whom All Curses Flow

Praise God from whom all curses flow
Praise him who made the thorns to grow
Praise him below infernal host
Praise Father Son and Holy Ghost

The sword that guards the Garden’s gate
The sweat and death that are our fate
The pain through which all life goes on
For these we thank the Lord in song

The night so short, the day all gone
Serve to make us cry out, “How long?”
Until the Judge of all appear
We will have persecution here

Praise him who leads us through the mire
Praise him who tests us in the fire
Praise him who breaks us on the stone
Praise him who chastises his own

The cut so deep it will not heal
The heavens shut up with bars of steel
The soul lost in the dark of night
Feels whole with just a point of light

We cannot wander where He’s not
There is no untouched tender spot
He binds the wounds His love has made
Lifts us from where His Son was laid

Praise him who hung upon the tree
Praise him who was the curse for me
Praise him below you blessed utmost
Praise Father Son and Holy Ghost
